To provide excellent packaging solutions and outstanding customer service.
It’s an approach which has served us well for more than one hundred years.
Holmes Mann was established in 1890 by Jonas Holmes and Matthew Mann, who built wooden packing cases for
Bradford ’s prosperous wool merchants. Our original premises were in Leeds Road,
Bradford and in 1930 we moved to our current location in Harris Street.
During our history, we have added many new products and services, including packaging machinery from , a range of packaging materials, corrugated cases, paper tubes and wooden pallets.
Our expertise in building wooden packing cases has remained, and we create products for today’s market, including some interesting packaging projects.
In 1989 we made wooden packing cases with polystyrene fittings to transport valuable portraits of HRH The Prince of Wales from Dean Clough in Halifax to
London .
We have also manufactured a virtually flat packing case for a metal gasket which was used by Red Adair to extinguish a
North Sea oil rig fire.
Our largest packing case was made to pack gas separators from
Abu Dhabi . The crates were the cubic size of a modern starter home - 40 feet in length and 14 feet in height. We assembled the crates on our client’s site, around the gas separators, and required a police escort to the docks.
Holmes Mann is run by the fourth generation of the Holmes family, and we continue to focus on our founders’ goals of Product Quality and Customer Service.
